Mary E. Nolen, MS, ANP-BC, DCNP
Mary is an Adult NP who ANP practiced in Dermatology for over 40 yrs. Her career has been dedicated to the education of NPs in this specialty. She developed the first Post-Graduate Fellowship for NPs in Dermatology@ Lahey Clinic in 2003 which continues today and has been a model for the development of similar programs across the country.
In 2014, Mary co-authored the first dermatology text for Advanced Practice Clinicians and is now in 2nd edition. She was instrumental in the development of the Competencies for dermatology nurse practitioners published in Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners: November 2018 - Volume 30 - Issue 11 - p 606-613.
Despite retiring from clinical practice in 2019, she continues to be involved in the advancement of the NP role in dermatology. She has been a frequent lecturer at AANP, DNA and other National meetings. She is currently on the editorial Board of the JDNA and Advisory Board of several organizations.
She has always had an interest in dermatopathology and is hoping this program will minimize the knowledge gap that exists for many NPs and PAs.
